My Story – Miranda Bond- CEO Inika

I struggled with endometriosis for many years, and in my mid 30s, resigned myself to the fact that I may not conceive naturally. I then came upon a book called The Hormone Heresy. Written by American holistic wellness guru Dr. Sherrill Sellman, the book suggested that women like me could restore balance to their endocrine systems by changing their diet, eliminating chemicals in the daily products they use, and using natural progesterone cream. Figuring I had nothing to lose, I resolved to follow the guidelines in the book – which included throwing out all my makeup – and within three months, I was pregnant.

After the birth of my beautiful healthy daughter Lola in 2002, my endometriosis cleared up completely, after years of being told by doctors that there was no solution other than surgery. I was amazed and resolved to focus my life on helping to educate and empower other women to take control of their health by limiting the toxins they put into their bodies and by seeking out natural options wherever possible.

Shortly after, I commenced giving community workshops on Toxic Free Living where I met former primary school teacher Jenni Williams, whose son, Alexander, suffered from severe allergies. In 2005, myself and Jenni formed Thriving Healthy Women, a website dedicated to providing information and resources on women’s health and toxic free living www.thrivinghealthywomen.com.au

After being bombarded by emails from Australian women searching for an all-natural cosmetics brand, myself and Jenni decided to create our own all-natural makeup brand that women could use freely and recommend to others - the result was Inika.

The next step in the Inika journey is to focus on developing more organic products for the Inika makeup range and further cement Inika’s global reputation as leaders in the field of eco-glam cosmetics.

My goal is to bring luxurious, affordable, world-class natural and organic cosmetics and skincare to women all over the world.

Jenni Williams- Co-Founder – Inika

Jenni’s research background is centred around food and nutrition with a particular emphasis on allergies. Jenni’s education degree enabled her to enter the profession where she happily worked as teacher for over 7 years. It wasn’t until the birth of her first son Alex that Jenni explored the alternative health arena. Alex has severe allergies and asthma and is anaphylactic to dairy, eggs, nuts and fish. Jenni became frustrated with the traditional medical route when she was not getting answers for Alex’s problems as you will see if you read Jenni’s journey. Taking matters into her own hands Jenni found the way forward was to empower herself and learn everything she could about the factors involved in Alex’s condition. This enabled her to change not only Alex’s life for the better but also her own and her family’s. Jenni is still researching this area of health and now works exclusively to produce Thriving Healthy Women, our not for profit educational web portal.
